London Stock Exchange welcomes Bridgepoint Group plc to the Premium Segment of the Main Market

Today, Bridgepoint, the UK headquartered, leading mid-market private asset firm in the world, has reached an important milestone as it begins trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. Bridgepoint priced its initial public offering at 350 pence per share, leading to a total market capitalisation at the commencement of conditional dealings at approximately £2,881 million, which equates to a total offer size of £789 million.
Founded in 2000 from a spin out of NatWest as NatWest Equity Partners, over the past 30 years Bridgepoint has become the global leader in middle-market growth investing, investing in over 200 portfolio companies, several of which are some of the UK’s most successful business stories, including Pret a Manger, Hobbycraft, Vitamin Well, Moneycorp, Miller Homes, PEI Media and Burger King (UK franchise). Bridgepoint also recently announced a significant minority investment into Itsu which will support considerable job and store growth. Across Bridgepoint’s portfolio it employs over 300,000 and specifically targets small to medium-sized companies, which represent important parts of the UK, and European, economies. Bridgepoint has 10 offices across Europe, the US and Asia.
William Jackson, Executive Chairman of Bridgepoint Group Plc, said: “After a period of strong growth across the business, including the diversification of our middle-market product range, an IPO is the next step for us to take as a business. London Stock Exchange is a natural place for our business, which has a strong UK heritage. Our listing will allow a wider range of investors to share the UK private capital success story, and allow us to continue to invest in, and support, over the long term the next stage of UK, European, and international growth businesses. I would also like to thank all our employees for their hard work in helping to make this happen.”
